Mermaid Belts

Mermaid Belts
Students explore different jewelry making techniques including beading and wire wrapping to create a magical mermaid chain belt using long island seashells and beach glass. Everyone is encouraged to bring in their own beach finds to include in their belt and share or trade with other students.
Students make the base of the belt by measuring the chain around their waist and cutting at the desired length. A giant lobster clasp will be attached to one end to create the belt. They will learn to wire wrap shells and beach glass to create the charms that will be attached later on with jump rings. The second class will be dedicated to adding finishing touches, beaded elements of their choice, more shells or other charms. The best part is that they walk away with their amazing Mermaid Belts.
All supplies are included in the price of the class.
