College Prep for Art School

Our 8-week college prep program teaches students how to create art and how to talk and write about their creations. This is crucial for the school of fine arts applications and interviews.

The Art of Applying to Art School

When your college studies are focused on creative and visual art-based courses such as Architecture, Fine Art, Graphic Design, Illustration, Interior Design, Animation, Game Design, or Film academic achievement isn’t enough to gain acceptance.

You need an amazing portfolio.

East End Arts School helps high school students put together a portfolio that highlights their creativity, personality, abilities, and commitment to their art.

Over a period of 8 weeks, students learn how to create art and how to talk and write about their creations. This is crucial for the school of fine arts applications and interviews.

Prepare for Success

Getting into a great art college requires hard work and dedication – and your competition knows this too. Take advantage of East End Arts School’s college prep program to gain a competitive edge.

Art schools expect you to have a body of work that shows your range and creativity, and East End Arts guides you to produce a portfolio that shows your potential as a successful artist.

What You’ll Learn

Our college prep program takes about 2 months to complete.  During this time, the instructor will guide you as you:

  • Work on sketchbooks to improve your skills. This is important to show your ability to work with a range of subject matter.
  • Work with a range of different mediums for experimentation and in-depth compositional exploration. This provides the opportunity to create strong original pieces.
  • Develop strong observational drawing skills and put them to work creating pieces that highlight your technical skills and inspire your audience.
  • Learn to highlight your artistic strengths as you comfortably discuss your art.
