College Prep for Art School

Our 4-session college prep program teaches students how to create art and how to talk and write about their creations. This is crucial for the school of fine arts applications and interviews.

The Art of Applying to Art School

Are you a high school student with a passion for art, aspiring to pursue your creative dreams at a college or university?

Our Art Portfolio Class is designed to help you develop a strong portfolio that will impress college admissions committees and increase your chances of getting into your dream art school.

Over four comprehensive sessions, we will guide you through the process of creating a compelling art portfolio that showcases your talent, creativity, and unique artistic voice. Students will also learn how to talk and write about their creations. This is crucial for the school of fine arts applications and interviews.

Our Portfolio Art Series is divided into four sessions, and offers classes on Mondays with Renee Brown, or Saturdays with Kenneth Jackson.

Prepare for Success

Our college prep program is divided into four specific categories, each emphasizing an important part of the process.

Our qualified and informative instructors will guide you as you:

  • Establish a strong foundation for your portfolio by exploring fundamental art principles and techniques.
  • Turn your creative ideas into tangible projects. Your instructor will guide you as you delve into creating a series of artworks that revolve around your chosen theme or concentration.
  • Build a collection of artworks, session three focuses on preparing your portfolio for presentation. You will learn essential skills for photographing and documenting your artwork professionally.
  • Prepare for presentation, in the final session, we will delve into the presentation of your portfolio for college applications. You will receive guidance on creating an artist statement and résumé that effectively communicate your passion and dedication.
