Dan Shaw-Town (born, UK, 1983) Lives and works in Center Moriches, NY. He holds a BA in Fine Art from London Metropolitan University and an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London. He has had many solo exhibitions in Europe and the USA, these include MaisterraValbuena (Madrid), Unosunove (Rome), Seventeen (London), Room East (New York), China Art objects (LA). Amongst his group exhibitions: Denver Museum of Art (Denver), Lisson Gallery (London) Marianne Boesky gallery (New York) Indianapolis Museum of Art (Indianapolis) Malvina Menegaz foundation (Castelbasso, Italy) Leeds City Art gallery (Leeds, UK)
What Drew Me to Teach at East End Arts:
To get more involved in the local arts community.
My Expertise:
I’m an artist working across multiple mediums. I’ve exhibited extensively in Europe and North America at Institutions and commercial galleries.
My Inspiration:
My Wife, my Daughter, my Mother… not necessarily in that order.
My Degrees:
I have a Masters degree in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College, University of London. I also hold a BA (Hons) from London Metropolitan University.
My Awards, Exhibitions & Honors:
I’ve exhibited at Museums and Institutions including the Denver Museum of Art, Indianapolis museum of Art, Drawing Room in London, Fondazione Menegaz in Italy and Leeds City Art gallery in UK. I’ve exhibited in many commercial art galleries, most notably Lisson Gallery and Marianne Boesky gallery.
