Monica Ray

Monica Ray, artist/instructor, earned a certificate in Botanical Art and Illustration from the NY Botanical Garden. She has conducted art classes and workshops related to botanicals and natural science subjects since 2015, at multiple locations on Long Island, NY. and elsewhere. She is a purist who craves color but at the same time loves the juxtaposition of the bold and delicate elements in a black and white rendering. She has exhibited solo and in groups nationally and internationally and her work is held in private collections in the US, Canada, Europe, and India. Ray is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA). In September 2022 she was admitted as a signature-member of NAWA (National Association of Women Artists Inc.).

Her work is executed in graphite, ink, silverpoint, colored pencil, and watercolor.
