Learn more about our faculty member Laura Stroh.
Laura Stroh has been teaching art at the East End Arts School for over 10 years. She graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude. During her college years she was introduced to colored pencil drawing. For many years she worked in this medium, and exhibited in shows including the Sayville Outdoor Art Show in which she won 2nd prize. Laura eventually took up oil painting and finds oils to be a more expressive medium.
Laura has shown her oil paintings in many galleries in Long Island some of which include: The Winter Harbor Gallery in Greenport, NY, the Love Lane Gallery in Mattituck NY, the Rosalie Dimon Gallery in Jamesport, NY, Tricia’s Gallery in Westhampton Beach, NY, St Catherine Gallery, in Water Mill, NY, among others.
Laura encourages her students to express themselves and to experiment with bolder colors, and freer brushstrokes.
Laura does most of her painting in her studio in her home, but occasionally she will paint outdoors, painting en plein air.
