Perlman Strings Collaborative Music Program

Tuition Free Strings Collaboration with Perlman Music School

The East End Arts School is proud to collaborate with The Perlman Music Program for this opportunity to bring local school-aged string students together with an outstanding orchestra of international student musicians, under the baton of world-famous, internationally acclaimed violin virtuoso and conductor Itzhak Perlman. This program commenced in 2012.

About the Progam

The East End Arts Student Orchestra is a tuition free program and is open to pre-college string students of all levels (ages 10-18).

The Program is directed by East End Arts cello/violin teacher Jeannie Woelker. Ms. Woelker has been the Program Coordinator for the East End Arts/Perlman Music Program collaboration since 2014 overseeing all phases of the project.

The EEA students prepare a piece, over three rehearsals, and perform in an “Open Rehearsal” under the baton of the great Itzhak Perlman, alongside the Perlman orchestra, for a performance open to the public, this year at the East Hampton High School.

Following the “Open Rehearsal” performance the EEA students are invited to dine with Mr. Perlman and the Perlman Music students.

After dinner Mr. Perlman will conduct his elite group of student musicians from the Perlman Music School in a concert open to the public at 7:00 pm. EEA’s students are encouraged to stay to watch the master at work. Tickets will be available soon.

This is truly an unparalleled experience for these East End students. Applications open May 1, 2024
