East End Arts Council

Celebration of Excellence in High School Theater since 2002

This East End Arts program (inspired by the Tony Awards) began in 2002 and is on a continued mission to elevate high school theater to acclaim equal to that of high school athletics in Eastern Suffolk County. Over twenty local high schools, 2000 teenagers, and fifty judges participate year-round, including many Teeny alumni, some of which have doubled down later in life to win Tony Awards. Theater incorporates all aspects of the arts and is a powerful driver of personal growth and community. See you on June 14th, 2026!

Judges Recruitment

The 2025-2026 Judges Recruitment is open! The Teeny Awards are looking for individuals who work in the arts/theatre as directors, producers, choreographers, educators, technical staff and arts administrators. Apply at the link below.

Celebrating the Creativity of Teens

We believe in promoting the creativity of teens who perform on stage and those that work behind the scenes to make the magic happen.

We build a community of advocates for the performing arts in high school just as athletic boosters provide support for sports.

All year long, anonymous volunteer judges with theatre and arts experience attend all high school theatrical performances on the East End to identify the best for nomination in every category.

About the Teeny Awards

The Teeny Awards ceremony is held in June and recognizes talent in the categories of Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress. Awards are given to Play and Musical performance categories.  Additional awards are given to Student Choreographers, Poster Designers, and Outstanding Performer in a Play or Musical.

Each ceremony includes favorite performances from the season.

Whether you have a student that’s studying performing arts or just want to revel in the joy of teens celebrating success, attend the Teeny Awards.
