This is the perfect class for pre-teen and teens to dive a little deeper into the process and create multi-media projects, to include drawing, mixed media, painting, clay and sculpture. The students will be introduced to artists and their mediums and will be encouraged to create their own masterpieces. Melissa emphasizes creativity in every project.

Creativity involves critical thinking, planning, and focusing your attention. Children learn through this process as different parts of the brain jump into action. They might discover something they never knew before, learn how to solve a problem, or figure out a new way to look at or do something!
Supplies are included.

Ultimate Studio, Drawing & Painting Class with Kenneth Jackson.

This session starts on March 2nd due to a snow day on February 17th, and the President’s Week Holiday. It will end March 23, 2024.

Ultimate Studio is an ongoing studio class, formatted in four-week sessions, to help build your skills in multiple mediums of art. This unique studio class will delve into the basics of drawing and painting. Each week the student concentrates on different styles, paint mediums, and subject matter, mastering a portrait, then a figure, then still life, then abstract, and maybe landscape too. This class is suited for all levels and works as a true studio class. Each person walks away with a sense of accomplishment and determination, with improved skills to push them even further in their art journey. The goal is to complete a fantastic art piece each session.

Please bring your own supplies, canvas, paints, paper, etc. Easels, brushes, and other basic supplies will be provided. If you wish to utilize EEA supplies, you will be charged an additional:

Unleash your creativity with our thrilling Comic Books, Cartooning, and Anime course! Dive into the world of entertaining design, comics, storytelling, and character development. Get ready for exhilarating lessons that effortlessly enhance your drawing and creative skills.

This class explores the “Art of Storytelling”, a sequential storyboarding exploration.
Students use their own concepts and creative thinking while developing their characters, and environments into a selected format.

Mark instructs the individual students and their projects independently as they build concepts and begin the story boarding process. He presents methods of production throughout classes as well as understanding foundation drawing skills.
Each class, has students tapping into their imagination, developing drawing skills, working in pencil, ink, markers, and colored pencils.

Students should come prepared with their own markers and or colored pencils, sharpies (Fine, and ultra fine points) Micron ink pens.

In the first class I will give students further details as to which brands are best.
Additionally, a portfolio is recommended-I will advise in the first class.

We will be using a variety of mediums to create your pet or favorite animal from a photographic reference. Class will cover the many types of papers, grounds and techniques surrounding rendering animals. Your instructor will have available photographs of animals, or you may bring a photo of your own pet. The art of the “Quick Sketch” will be explored as well as many other exercises in drawing and painting animals. Students will leave the class with a better understanding and appreciation for creating animals in their favorite medium!

Advanced Players

Rock U band is a combination of grads and advanced teens, directed by Music Director Chris Jones and Assistant Director Natalia Rahim. The students work on mastering skills such as; playing together as a band, timing, and most importantly, performance and stage presence. The rehearsals run continuously in the Fall/ Winter and Winter/Spring, with a special session in the summer. The goal is to perfect a set of music to be used in multiple performances throughout the year.

All students are required to be proficient at an advanced level in an instrument of choice in order to participate.: vocals, guitar, bass, drums, keys, violin, or horns (all instruments are welcome).

Rehearsal Dates – 4 rehearsals

Students learn about the lives of artists and how they have contributed to the art world; as well as create wonderful artwork to take home.
