I hope to create images that capture the remarkable beauty and uniqueness of the East End of Long Island. As a native of Long Island, I have grown a deep appreciation for this special environment and try not to take it for granted, as it is always changing.ย ย I am inspired by the open space of the farmland, the varied crops, the migrant farmers, the life that flourishes from the surrounding waters, and our community.
Painting gives me an opportunity to connect to the natural world as I study it through observation of color and light. I paint with watercolor, balancing water and pigment, to push realism with shadow and light.
I only wish that my art would bring awareness to the importance of preservingย Long Islandโs land, water and the lifestyle that thrives from it.
